Great Races at The ’25 Latvian MXGP

The races this season have been amazing so far, this one was no exception. With every lap, riders fought for the number 1 spot. It was certainly an eventful one, but that is what we wanted!

This blog will cover some key moments as well as rankings for anyone who missed the race.

Herlings Dominates The Competition Again

After his late start this season, he has been slowly but surely climbing the ranks with each passing race. In the previous German race, Herlings won both races and once again he showcased his skill and speed. His double win garnered him 50 points in total.

This is pushing him upwards in the overall rankings also. He now sits at 9th place from 11th previously. Many are saying that Herlings is on track to take back his reign as World Champion.

Febvre Remains 1st

From his highly successful win streak, he sits on 530 points currently. After Gajser’s temporary time out of the races, Febvre has overtaken him over the past few rounds. In Race 1 he dropped down to 6th however skilfully managed a 3rd in the 2nd. Overall, he placed 3rd. This means he gained 35 points from his overall finish, pushing him further away from 2nd place holder, Lucas Coenen.

Coenen Continues To Gain On Febvre

He has consistently secured 2nd place over the past few races. This therefore means he has also been gaining 40 onward points each time.

His 2nd place finishes have helped him massively as he has managed a 2nd place overall rank also. As of now, he holds 504 points, which a mere 28 points behind Febvre. It will take one mistake from Febvre and the current performance of Coenen for him to officially take the championship lead.

Overall, it was a good race week for fans as well as riders. There were standing changes, adrenaline and also the main point of MXGP: every racer fighting to reach that number 1 spot.

The next race approaches and we are beyond excited to see how it pans out.
