Great Results In MotoGP Assen

Once again, the MotoGP race was amazing. With every turn, riders fought massively to reach the podium. There were some exciting moments as well as disappointing ones- from successes and crashes.

In this article, we will go over some of the many highlights from the race as well as the rankings- Assen and overall.

Another Victory for Marc Marquez

Marquez has consistently delivered amazing results throughout the entire 2025 season. He currently sits in the number 1 spot in the rider rankings, and holds a solid lead over his opponents.

In Assen, it was a close call between him and Marco Bezzecchi. Whilst Marc finished 1st, Bezzecchi was just seconds behind. One mistake from Marquez and the 1st place would have been the Aprilia drivers.

However, the skill and speed of Marquez ultimately dominated the race.

Alex Marquez Crashes Out

Whilst his brother was leading the race, Alex crashed massively.

He was leaning into Acosta and unfortunately lost his balance when the pair made contact during the battle for 4th place.

In the incident, it looked like Alex was locking his front tyre. This caused him to tip and fall straight onto the ground at an extremely high speed.

He was immediately taken to be examined in the medical centre, where it was confirmed he has a fractured hand. As of straight after the crash, Gresini racing have not said anything specific about it or Alex’s condition. More information and updates are expected very soon, however.

Acosta Hospitalised

It seems that both Marquez and Acosta didn’t have the best luck at Assen last Sunday.

Whilst pushing for 3rd place, he got an insect sting from the race and then an allergic reaction. He placed 4th overall (his best result of the season) however had to have medical treatment immediately after.

KTM has said that Pedro has to recover, so he will not be taking part in any sort of media coverage.

He has now since left the hospital and should be okay to race soon.
