Coenen takes Amazing Win in Finland

This round of the 2025 MXGP season was absolutely amazing. There were some great performances from every rider on the track. However, only one came out on top.

In this segment, we will go over just that as well as the rankings overall.

Challenging Weather

A previous overnight thunderstorm caused the track to hold some moisture to it by the morning. However, the sun shone all weekend.

The track, combined with the heat, made for a challenging ride for everyone. Despite this, they successfully managed to showcase their speed and skill when it came down to it. It was certainly a physical challenge that was not to be underestimated!

Coenen Secures Both Wins

Over the race weekend, Lucas Coenen performed amazingly well. In both qualifying and actual races, his skill and speed were both on show massively.

During the official races, he placed 1st in both – making him 1st overall. This earned him 50 points onto his tally and pushes him up in the championship standings.

He is trailing the current leader, Febvre, by a tiny 15 points. The gap is coming to a close, and many are predicting that he will secure his first MXGP World Title during his first season. This is a huge accomplishment.

But will he do it?

Herlings Recovering

After suffering yet another slight injury during a practice session, he sat the Finnish Grand Prix out. He experiences a collarbone break and was originally told to let it heal naturally; however, reassessments were made at a later date.

Red Bull KTM Factory team will assess the state of his recovery daily to plan a return to action. Hopefully, he can make a return by the 27th of July.
