Martin has had a rough couple of months. From his 6 fractures to a gruelling recovery – MotoGP was both good and bad for him.
He has been recovering and is now able to race once again, and returned to MotoGP for the Czech Grand Prix.
His First Grand Prix Back
The Czech round was actually a solid race for him, especially considering he has had no practice for months, as well as the severity of his injuries. He placed 7th and garnered 9 points. His performance was great, showcasing his speed and skill that got him a World Title last year, in 2024.
He said that before the race, he ‘couldn’t help but cry due to everything he has been through’ over the past year. It has certainly been frustrating and painful, yet all worth it in the end to get back on the track.
Aprilia
The team is fully supporting Martin and helping him despite his announced early leave.
The Aprilia CEO is extremely confident that Martin’s skill will overpower his missed days, and there are many who believe that Jorge Martin will only need around two races to be in for a podium and that he still has time to get a victory in the 2025 season.
Qatar and Martin’s Future
This is the race where he got injured again. The crash led to his longer recovery process along with many surgeries. Luckily, Martin improved his technique on the bike and tailored it to him and was much more
successful.
The team is aware of what needs to be done so that Jorge can close the gap between him and his teammate, and also the other riders on the grid. Martin is also confident that he can go fast at specific tracks, which will push him up the ranks overall.
Goals are there; can he meet them?
