MotoGP
MotoGP is one of the most challenging as well as demanding motorsports in the world. From this, many stars have come through.
Valentino Rossi
Possibly one of the greatest riders in the world. He has 9 World Titles in total, and his skill is beyond impressive. His style and charisma is what made him not only the most successful MotoGP rider, but a fan favourite too.
Marc Marquez
Currently on the 2025 grid, Marc Marquez is a weapon. His style is aggressive, fast paced, and it is always clear that he is there to win. He has won several World Titles in MotoGP and is also on track for many more.
As of right now, he is so far in the lead that he could take 3+ races off and still be in the lead. The 2nd half of MotoGP continues after the summer break, only then will we finally begin to see who wins the title.
Giacomo Agostini
An original icon. He won 7 consecutive World Titles, and then another one later during his late 60s to early 70s career. During this time, he had many opponents, yet he overcame every single one. Very impressive.
Formula One
Formula 1 has had so many legends, who excelled greatly at the sport. This is just a small pinch of the greats.
Ayrton Senna
When talking about raw pace, skill and speed, Ayrton Senna always end up in the conversation – and with good reason. Until his untimely death, he excelled on the track and was pure F1 material. Charisma, charm and talent. One of the greatest drivers of all time – the best according to many.
Lewis Hamilton
The GOAT. He has won 7 World Titles and also holds so many records at a range of circuits. Hamilton dominated the world of Formula 1 for a long time. Now, after his switch to Ferrari thing seem to be dull. However, he is still one of the most successful F1 drivers in all of history. When someone says F1, Hamilton comes to mind.
Michael Schumacher
Simply iconic driver. This list wouldn’t be complete without the household name of Schumacher. He is, like Hamilton, a 7-time World Champion and one of the best drivers of all time. His performances were
top notch, and his skill has gone down in motorsport history.
IndyCar
IndyCar is a hidden gem for many people. Yes, it is popular but nowhere near as big of a household name as Formula 1. However, there are some amazing athletes that come from IndyCar.
A.J. Foyt
Obviously, he has to be included in this list. With over 60 wins and 7 National Championships under his belt, he is one of the most successful IndyCar drivers of all time. Also, he has 4 Indianapolis 500 wins over two decades. Combined with his skill, he is an IndyCar icon.
Mario Andretti
He is very versatile as a driver. His Indianapolis 500 win along with his 4 Championship Titles put him in the top bracket of IndyCar drivers.
Scott Dixon
He is on the grid currently. After a long career full of victories, he is regarded as one of the most resilient and skilled drivers of modern IndyCar. He has 6 Championship wins to his name and also an Indianapolis 500 win.
WEC
Motorsports without talking about endurance racing (specifically Le Mans) can’t happen. It is an iconic and historical part of motorsports.
Tom Kristensen
There is a reason he is called Mr Le Mans. With a massive 9 World Titles to his name, he is one of the most skilled endurance racers of all time. 6 of these wins were consecutive, showing just how talented he is. Also, this is a record number of wins. Legendary.
Jacky Ickx
A classic as well as a multi-talented driver. Won Grand Prixs in Formula 1 and remains a Le Mans legend with his 6 wins overall. He was a very skilled, very talented driver.
NASCAR
NASCAR is a great motorsport and has produced some of the greatest stats in motorsports history. There are countless talents from NASCAR however a few stand out.
Richard Petty
The King of NASCAR with 200 wins, 6 World Title wins and the perfect template for a NASCAR driver. He is simply a staple within NASCAR.
David Pearson
His start to win ration is criminally underrated. Along with his skill and speed, he was an amazing driver of great talent. This list wouldn’t be complete without Pearson’s name. He holds 105 victories in total -NASCAR’s 2nd highest statistic.
WRC
Rally is a necessity within motorsports. It holds some of the most intense track conditions there is, and also some of the greatest athletes.
Michèle Mouton
The best female Rally driver of all time. She is so highly regarded to this day. She won 4 Rally events overall in the span of 2 years and was beyond fast. Her only objective was to win. To add to this, she was able to win on many different types of tracks, from gravel to tarmac also.
Colin McRae
He was one of the greatest drivers in Rallying history. With 25 wins and 42 podiums, his speed and skill pushed him to countless victories until he died in 2007. Not only was he the 1st Britt to win a Rally race, but he was also the youngest winner at age 27.
MXGP
Motocross can often be forgotten about. However, once again there are some great talents in the world of motorsport that come from MXGP starts.
Jeffrey Herlings
Possibly the best MXGP champion of all time, who is still racing on the current grid. With 5 World Titles across MX2 and MXGP, his skill is amazing. He also has a total of 107 GP wins and is consistent and resilient even with a long list of injuries.
Stefan Everts
Everts is simply iconic in the world of motocross. He has the most World Titles (10) across MXGP combined with other motocross classifications along with 101 Grand Prix wins. He is definitely the most successful motocross figure.
Overall, there are many iconic people in a wide range of motorsport. This list is a mere pinch of these names.
