What a race! The Formula One British Grand Prix at Silverstone was easily one of the best races of the season so far. With every turn, F1 fans were full of both adrenaline and shock, but by the end of the race, it was pure joy.
In this article we will cover the amazing moments from the British Grand Prix.
Hulkenburg’s First Podium After 239 Races
After 15 years of waiting for his well-deserved podium, he has finally got it.
The 37-year-old in a Sauber managed to overtake Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari and keep a lead over him until the very end. He secured a P3 finish overall.
Regardless of who supports who, this was a win for everyone. F1 fans have seen Hulkenburg try extremely hard for a very long time. It was almost annoying how a driver of his talent and skill had no podiums
However, many are disappointed that his first podium trophy was Lego and not a more traditional one. Hulkenburg said that his daughter can play with the Legos, so he seems pleased regardless.
Hamilton’s Podium Streak is Over
Although everyone is proud of Nico’s 3rd place finish, it means that Lewis Hamilton lost his streak of wins at his home race. This is upsetting for Hamilton fans who have followed him from Mercedes to Ferrari.
His new team has proven to be unreliable when he especially needed a good strategy as well as better technology.
Lando Norris’ First Home Race Win
After Oscar Piastri was given a 10 second penalty for dangerously accelerating, Norris was in the lead. He held this P1 position until the very end and got his first win at Silverstone.
McLaren fans were beyond happy with the results that the team got, and despite a penalty, Piastri finished 2nd.
However, many are saying that Piastri was showing a childish, unsportsman-like side to him. His radio message showed that after his penalty he wanted to swap the positions back with Lando, which many
argue was unfair of him to request. During the podium, others are stating that he did not even spray Hulkenburg with the champagne, and in the conference he quite bitterly asked Nico a question about how he feels regarding his trophy.
McLaren fans as well as non-McLaren fans have shown disappointment with how he acted.
Rankings
