
Haas racers Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon both secured places on the leader board in the Bahrain GP on Sunday.
After a disappointing start to the race weekend on Saturday, they both made an impressive comeback on Sunday, with Ocon gaining P8 and Bearman P10, 5 points extra are now in the Haas F1 Team.
Saturday
Prior to the official GP race, the day didn’t go as planned for the drivers with one car in the P20 position and one crashed into the wall. With 11 minutes left on the clock in the Q2 race, Ocon hit the wall at a high
speed. The crash significantly impacted on the car however, Ocon was confirmed to be safe. Despite his crash, his skill and speed made an impression with many people awarding points. Prior to Q2, Ocon’s
counterpart finished dead last in the previous qualifying round. All in all- the weekend was off to a poor start.
However, their losing streak soon came to an end.
Sunday
Both racers accomplished an exceptional race after their underperformance on the Saturday.
During the official Grand Prix race, the teammates made a massive turnaround on the leader board. Overall they both gained P10 upward positions – a major improvement.
Ocon sat comfortably at P8 , with Bearman rushing into P10 to get a point for his team.
The Future
Rookie Bearman has been on track for higher positions for the past few Grand Prixs – in qualifying, practice, and in the races. We can expect to see him continuing on his upward trajectory as the 2025 season advances.
Ocon has seen a steady and good start to the Grand Prix in the Formula 1 season, with positions ranging from P18 onwards. From this point we can expect to also see improvements from Ocon – like Bearman.
