Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing’s Team Principal, has been under fire from the media recently, and rumours have begun to circulate in regard to his position in the team.
In this blog, we will go over some key information about the rumours, some background details, and possible replacements.
The Rumours
After the recent decrease in rankings for the Red Bull team, many are questioning Horner’s suitability for the role.
Although they have previously held the manufacturer title, it seems like this isn’t in their future. And although he has led Red Bull to lots of wins, fans are asking if he is capable of doing this again.
The team has won one race this year; in comparison to last season, this is very poor. Whilst McLaren is consistently winning, RBR is sinking.
The 2025 season’s start was slow due to a driver swap. Lawson failed to get a single point. The switch from Lawson to Tsunoda has proven to be slightly effective. But despite the change, Tsunoda is not performing to a massively impressive level, objectively speaking.
Many fans and critics have commented on this saying that it was highly unfair to demote Lawson so quickly, and that the swap only gained RBR a miniscule number of points.
Previous Scandals
Allegations against Horner have been made, well known in the F1 community. His “coercive behaviour” accusations from a female employee were publicised in 2024. He continues to deny these allegations.
Reports are showing that the Austrian side to the company is eager to replace Horner, however other shareholders might be slightly more reluctant.
Replacement Talk
There is already some speculation on who might replace Horner, and some media teams say Oliver Oakes, who recently resigned from Alpine, is in the mix. As well as this, Franz Tost.
There are clearly some interesting ideas surrounding Horner and his job however, these are simply speculation, and some have said they are not true.
Overall, there are lots of theories that Red Bull are yet to address. What do you think? Will RB replace their Team Principal, or will he show he can help the team win?
