• The original Edward Turner-designed four-cylinder 'superbike' launched in 1930 as a 500cc OHC fitted into a conventional Ariel 500cc frame
• By 1935, it's capacity was 1,000cc with a totally revised engine layout including dry sump, one-piece crankshaft and a Solex carburettor
• Partially restored Ariel Square Four presented as a rebuild/restoration project
• Appears to be complete and with some nicely reconditioned parts
• Engine and crank both bored out +20 thou
• Early, pre-four pipe model, built during a chrome shortage
• Owned for 20+ years
