The Best Moments in F1- 75 Years on

F1 is full of crazy moments; every turn and corner is full of adrenaline and passion, with racers competing for the number 1 spot on the grid.

Today marks 75 years of F1, so in honour of this we will discuss the very best of these moments!

Max Verstappen’s Debut

Verstappen was signed to the Red Bull junior team Toro Rosso at just 17 years old, making him the youngest ever driver to enter F1. This itself is highly commendable.

However, his impressive number of races in his Toro Rosso time pushed him to a promotion. He replaced Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat for the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. The race begun with a crash between Rosberg and Hamilton of Mercedes at the time, and this therefore put Verstappen at an advantage.

Along with him being the youngest F1 driver, he also became the youngest on the podium, the youngest race winner, and the youngest lap leader. This became an iconic race. Not only does it remain so for
Verstappen, but the F1 world recognises him as a generational talent. He has kept his titles for many years, until 2025 rookies have since broken some.

Michael Schumacher’s 7th World Championship Win

From the beginning, Schumacher was clearly an amazingly skilled driver. Prior to his 7th title, he had won two with Benetton. In 1996, he became a Ferrari driver. For 4 years he didn’t secure another Championship title.

However, in 2000, his luck changed massively, and this went down in history. He won 5 consecutive titles, making 7 total. This was record- breaking and because of this, he is known as one of the best F1 drivers
ever to exist.

Lewis Hamilton’s 1st WC Win

Lewis Hamilton is one of the most successful drivers in F1 history. He has 7 World Championship titles under his belt and years of racing experience. During his rookie era, he missed out on the championship by one point to his then teammate Fernando Alonso.

Regardless of this disappointment earlier, he soon won a title. By the final race in Brazil, he held the lead by 7 points at 94. For 2nd place (Massa) to win, he needed Lewis to finish 6th place or ideally lower.

However, Hamilton managed to surpass the slow competition and secured himself 5th place. This ultimately made him World Champion for the 1st out of his current 7 times.

Overall, many amazing things have happened in Formula 1 history. From crashes to prevailing in uncertain conditions- it has been a wild ride from the start of F1.
