The Belgian Grand Prix is done! The Sprint race week was one of the less eventful ones, however it was still a good one for sure. From amazing recoveries to drivers maintaining their P1 positions, we will go over some of the many race events!
Bortoleto Gets Top 10
The Belgian Grand Prix marks the rookie’s second ever top 10 finish (excluding sprints), and also the second time getting points. His performance in both the sprint as well as the actual race was great, and
combined with his 9th place finish, people are talking about him much more now.
In his current car, a top 10 place is highly difficult.
Success for Williams
Alex Albon continues to impress and score higher and higher with each passing race. In the Belgian round, he sits at 6th. This is only 5 seconds behind 5th place holder, George Russell.
If he keeps performing well and his great strategy remains, could a Williams podium be in the cards?
Albon’s victory has also helped Williams massively in preparation for the Hungarian Grand Prix – they are now comfortably at 5th place in front of Sauber.
Piastri Wins
Piastri has once again won the Grand Prix! His performances are consistently amazing, and he delivers no less than P10 every race.
He finished with a 3-second lead in front of Lando Norris and got an additional 25 points that extends his P1 overall lead. He is 16 points ahead of his teammate in these rankings. Many are predicting that Piastri is set to win the World Title.
Liam Lawson Gets P8
Lawson had a very well-known rocky start to the F1 season. From no points in Red Bull Racing to struggling in VCARB in the beginning, it has been a wild season.
This marks his third podium of the year, and his points are currently at 14. He is also in joint 16th place with Sainz. Although this statistic could be better, it is quite the improvement from his previous performance.
Overall, the race had some interesting moments! The next round in Hungary is approaching quickly, and we are beyond excited for the results.
